B's Salty & Sweet
B’s Salty & Sweet is the brainchild of a baking and food-loving wife and husband, Bethany and David. Bethany ran a granola business in Louisiana for seven years, selling at farmers markets, grocery stores and beyond and later helped run a bakery cafe in Antigua, Guatemala, taking ownership of the savory menu and launching the sell-out Sunday Dinners. David attended pastry school in San Francisco, and worked in bakeries such as Tartine and Jane, as well as Milo & Olive in Los Angeles, before opening a TripAdvisor top-rated bakery cafe in Antigua, Guatemala, which is where he met Bethany.
Now based in Columbia, TN, the couple worked out of the kitchen at Columbia State in for a year, selling their baked goods at farmers markets and to wholesale clients. In June of 2020, amidst the pandemic, they opened their bakery inside the Factory at Columbia and have been overwhelmed by the support of the local community.
Every week, you can stop by the bakery to find their artisanal sourdough bread, signature pop tarts, handmade pastries, cookies, daily lunch specials and more. Cinnamon babka, country sourdough bread, strawberry pop tarts, and oatmeal chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, to mention a few, are delicious items that can found on the daily menu. Of course, there are many other mouthwatering flavors available. For those on a restrictive diet, many of the menu items are naturally vegan, while others are – or can be – ordered with a vegan option. Considering one of the owners is vegan, you will appreciate how important it is to them to offer delicious vegan baked goods.
Listed on the website you will find the weekly lunch menu (designed vegan first) and schedule of flavors for the regular bakery items for the week. Daily items can be ordered online for immediate pickup or curbside service. As well, any flavors of the regular pastries and specialty items such as cakes, cupcakes, and pies, can be special ordered with just a day or two’s notice. Go to the Pre-Orders section of the Online Order page to place these orders and, if desired, a future date can be selected during checkout.
If bagels are your thing, do not miss out on the tasty bagels on Saturdays. It is strongly recommended to pre-order the bagels to ensure availability as they go fast! As a note, if you want bagels on other days of the week, contact the bakery directly and they will do their best to accommodate your request.
