Mozzarella Bar Italian Eatery is a unique restaurant offering a trip to Italy in your own backyard that was inspired by small local trattoria eateries in Rome, Florence, and Milan. With 40 years of experience cooking in Italy and running award winning restaurants on both the east and west coast, chef and owner, Matthew Antonovich proudly opened the Mozzarella Bar November 1, 2020, in Spring Hill, TN.

This Italian Eatery captures the true essence of Italian history, cooking from scratch each day serving only the freshest seasonal ingredients combined with Italian imported items. With its open kitchen concept showcasing the ‘Pastaria” Pasta Factory, guests can watch pasta being made fresh daily. The pasta served represents the 20 distinct culinary regions of Italy and are complemented with sauces Chef learned to make while working in Italy that promise to excite the palate and tease the senses.

While Chef Antonovich worked in Italy, he discovered the Mozzarella Bars of Rome and designed the Mozzarella Bar counter with imported Carrera marble the same that Michelangelo carved from. The namesake Mozzarella Bar offers patrons a chance to see fresh Mozzarella prepared and hand-pulled at the marble counter along with the other Italian antipasti and salumi platters accompanied by the best cheeses of Italy imported weekly.

Italy also inspired Chef Antonovich to create the perfect pizzeria and new style “NEO” Neapolitan Pizzeria. His upbringing in the Bronx, NY, training in California, and working in Italy helped him define his perfect pizzeria. Respecting the traditions of the Verace Pizza Napolitana, a style of pizza found in Naples, and being true to the American Farm to Table movement pizzas are original with no boundaries. Chef’s classic Neapolitan Double Zero dough is guarded under strict control during the making and fermentation process to ensure a crispy and airy crust. To further authenticate the pizzas, a Morello Forni oven was imported from Italy to bake them in.

For those guests who wish to linger before or after dinner, the Bacari “Venice Style” coffee and wine bar is a delight. A relaxing bar where one can sample wines by the glass, hand crafted Italian Soda, or Muletown coffee drink specialties. To satisfy that sweet tooth, tasty gelato or one of the chef’s Italian inspired classic desserts can be ordered.
